City air quality maintained despite rapid development
Although its industries keep growing as more locate here, Zhuhai's air quality -- a major attraction -- remains in the top ten among 169 key cities monitored from January through October, according to the Ministry of Ecology & Environment.
The best air quality over the first 10 months of 2018 was found in Haikou, Huangshan, Lhasa, Zhoushan, Lishui, Shenzhen, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Taizhou, and Huizhou and Zhuhai in a tie.
Last year, Zhuhai was also one of the top 10 cities for air quality. The other nine in 2017 were Haikou, Lhasa, Zhoushan, Xiamen, Fuzhou, Huizhou, Shenzhen, Lishui, and Guiyang.

Zhuhai was among the top three of 74 municipalities monitored nationwide. The ten with the best air quality were Haikou, Lhasa, Zhuhai, Shenzhen, Zhoushan, Zhongshan, Huizhou, Guiyang, Xiamen, and Lishui. Zhongshan and Huizhou were tied for sixth.

Zhuhai had the second-best air quality just behind Haikou, and was followed by Zhongshan, Jiangmen, Nanning, Shenzhen, Lishui, Xiamen, Zhoushan, and Guiyang.
June
From January, Zhuhai was at least 8th in air quality among 169 key cities and was one of the top three in June alone. The average concentration of PM2.5 in the city was 29 mcg per cubic meter, leveling off from last year. The monitored indexes of pollutants have met the national standard for four consecutive years.
