Throngs of revelers crowded Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort in Zhuhai on Nov 24 and 25 for the 2018 Hengqin Music Festival & Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC).

They were exposed to arts, carnival rides, and circus-style performances at one of the world's top three electronic music events.

Stunning fireworks

Many reportedly had traveled from around the globe to hear Major Lazer, an American electronic dance music trio; Tiesto, the famed Dutch DJ; Porter Robinson, an American record producer and DJ; and Zhu, a Chinese-American dance-music producer. Altogether, 60 artists and top bands, many of them mainstream music big names, performed in a range of musical styles.

The signature Kinetic Field featuring Goddess Gaia was transported from Los Angeles to give a taste of genuine EDC, along with Circuit Grounds and Quantum Valley. Together they constituted a three-stage show.

Radiant fans and phones

Large-scale interactive art installations, huge grandstands, and dazzling neon lights immersed the crowds in a shared experience. The Hengqin festival pushed the envelope by adding firework thrills and other themed attractions.

It was the first time for such an international music festival brand to come to Zhuhai. Zebra Entertainment Enterprise and Zhuhai Da Heng Qin Investment were the sponsors.
