Zhuhai Gree Intelligent Equipment Co is one of 38 nationwide experimental units recently charged with the standardization of high-end equipment manufacturing.

The Standardization Administration of the PRC and Ministry of Industry & Information Technology has included Gree as one of four Guangdong organizations noted for technological capability. Some of the industry-wide technical standards they are to determine will be promoted to national and even international levels. These should enhance the competitiveness of domestic intelligently manufactured products.

The program is designed to strengthen technical R&D capacity and advance the equipment manufacture sector to the mid- to high-end range of the global value chain.

Zhuhai Gree Intelligent Equipment, whose website lists its address as 2323 Jiuzhou Ave in Gongbei, was established in Xiangzhou District in Sept 2015 as an arm of world-leading household appliances supplier Gree Electric Appliances. It integrates R&D, production, sales, and service of intelligent equipment, and offers a product range covering more than 10 domains with over 100 specifications, including servo manipulators, industrial robots, intelligent storage equipment, and intelligent detection systems. Its accumulated output value exceeds 3 billion yuan ($782 million).

Having complied 192 sets of corporate standards, the company is recognized as a Guangdong Provincial Backbone Robotic Enterprise and Zhuhai leader in intelligent equipment engineering. It contributes to six standardization organizations including the China National Technical Committee for Automation Systems & Integration Standardization and has participated in the formulation of five national standards.
