No food needed for Gree 'musicians' going to Beijing
An orchestra membered by Gree-made robots will perform the company's new single Made in China, Loved by the World at the World Robot Conference (WRC), which is to be held in Beijing from Aug 15 to 19.
Gree Electric Appliances is based in Qianshan of Xiangzhou District, Zhuhai. Since beginning with air conditioners, the company has developed a hundred product types including industrial robots, intelligent automated guided vehicles, and large-scale automatic line bodies. The conference for Gree's upcoming performance is sponsored by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, Ministry of Industry & Information Technology, and China Association for Science & Technology.
This is considered the largest and most high-profile global convention in the robotic industry. The conference gathers international experts and enterprises and displays the latest scientific and technological achievements.
Robot picks guitar
Made in China, Loved by the World was released at the 2018 Gree Keeps Forging Ahead Grand Ceremony on May 16 to express the company's faith in its future. It is to be fully upgraded at the WRC with additional robots and musical instruments.
Robot performers are mostly serial numbered GR608 and GRS401. As the most versatile members in the Gree robot family, those in the two categories are valued for agility and stability.
Industrial robots are expected to play a key role in China's development of the intelligent manufacturing industry. Gree has invested 1 billion yuan ($146 million) in research and development over the past five years as part of a broader push to upgrade that industry and advance it in world markets.
