With summer in full swing, tourist attractions across Zhuhai have rolled out a series of upgraded aqua-facilities to entice those keen to escape scorching heat with the fun and frolics of water sports and other cool activities.

An all-new Caribbean Water World returned to Ocean Spring Resort on June 30 with a newly added Big Trumpet Slide. Fun-seekers glide from a platform more than 20 m (22 yds) high, plunging into a huge trumpet-shaped slide as if being sucked in by a tornado.

Other aqua-facilities include a Rainbow Slide, Parent-Child Island of Waterslides, and Happy Water Cube, which also provide water thrills.

Those on a family trip can find suitable entertainment at the bubble experience, Caesar-styled bathing dance, ice bucket challenge, Caribbean parade, or health-oriented hot spring summer camp.

Meanwhile, located in downtown Lanpu in Gongbei, Lost City Water Park is one of best choices for tourists who seek to relieve the summer heat without going far from the city. The contextual water park extended opening hours to 10 pm starting June 16.

Water fun

Those interested in a polar adventure shouldn't miss Chimelong International Ocean Tourist Resort where they can see one of the largest penguin exhibits in the world and catch a memorable performance at the Beluga Theater.

The Polar Explorer project combines a roller coaster with drifting. It offers visitors a unique dash across snowy valleys, flotation over a frozen lake, and close look at rare brown bears.
