Airshow China offers hi-tech bonanza
Hall 8: Armaments
Key exhibitors: China North Industries Group Corporation (CNIGC) and China South Industries Group Corporation (CSIGC).
Hall 8 features armaments. CNIGC is exhibiting eight categories of high-tech weapon systems that are mainly for armored assault, effective fire strikes, and air defense; and is showing anti-missile, precision strikes, special operations, guidance and control, surveillance and early-warning and comprehensive safeguards. Armored trucks like VT5 and VT4 main battle tanks, VN12 infantry fighting vehicles and VP11 MRAP vehicles are on display.
CSIGC has brought more than 70 military products, demonstrating sharp-edge technologies applied in anti-terrorism and rapid response force, short-range defense, mobile troop situations, and aviation ammunition.

Hall 9: Civilian-military integrated technical equipment
The exhibitors are primarily enterprises engaged in producing special materials, airport equipment, and satellite navigation systems, along with civilian-military integrated technical equipment.
Hall 10: Aero-engines
Key exhibitor: Aero Engine Corporation of China.
Hall 10 features aviation engines. Newly established on Aug 28, Aero Engine Corporation of China takes part in the airshow for the first time. The 1,000 sq m display area is shared by aerial engines, gas turbines, system integration, new materials and techniques, and aircraft-related know-how. Visitors can get better insight into turbofans, turbo shaft aerial engines, and gas turbines through material objects and models, single-crystal turbine blades, and grapheme.
Star exhibits: Turbofan and turboshaft aero-engines.
Hall 11: Emergency rescue equipment
Key exhibitor: Xinxing Cathay International Group
Unlike the other halls, 11 is set up by Xinxing Cathay International Group with a large green military canvas tent, exhibiting military supplies and emergency rescue equipment.
For emergency rescue equipment, the latest demos include barrier-breaking mobile rescue vehicle, technical rescue trucks, medical rescue trucks and emergency rescue packages.
Military supplies with lighter weight and complex functions are being exhibited as well, including new textile composite materials, single pawn special equipment, and special protective suits.
Intelligent tool robot
Star exhibits: Barrier-breaking mobile rescue vehicle and intelligent tool robots.
Outdoor exhibition
The aircraft display area is 350,000 sq m accommodating 130 aircraft and several outdoor booths. It encompasses dynamic, static and outdoor product exhibition areas for four aerobatic teams, exhibited aircraft, and air force equipment.
Highlights
Airshow China 2016 sets new records in size and complexity, revealing characteristics of high technological level and internationality. More than 700 exhibitors from 42 countries and regions gathered at the grand meeting.
Aircraft: J-20 slated to show
Most of the 140 aircraft are in place at the designated display area, including star planes from the Chinese Air Force, COMAC, Airbus, and Boeing.
Air Force: Seven star aircraft have landed in Zhuhai with the J10B, KJ-500, Y-9, and Y-20 to make first appearances at the exhibition.
Domestic types: Y-12F and AG600 of AVIC, and ARJ21-700 of COMAC are focused.
World new-type civilian airplanes: Airbus A350, Boeing 787, and Bombardier CS300.
The J-20, a new generation of invisible fighter jet independently developed and manufactured by China, makes its debut at the air show, flown in by the PLA Air Force.
Equipment
Besides airplanes, the aircraft display area also showcases air force equipment and CETC radars, floating balloons, electronic warfare pods, and special vehicles.
Aerobatic teams
Four aerobatic teams will show their skills.
The August 1st Aerobatic Team of the Chinese PLA Air Force has landed seven J-10 fighters in Zhuhai. Among 13 pilots, 11 are male and two are female. They performed the first show at the opening ceremony and will display one performance daily.
Red Arrows Aerobatic Team of the UK Royal Air Force has landed 12 Hawk advanced trainers in Zhuhai and will do nine performances during the exhibition period.
Mixed formation of the Knights and Swifts aerobatic teams of the Russian Air Force has arrived in Zhuhai. Besides mixed formations, pilots of both teams will do solos.
Sherdils Aerobatic Team of the Pakistan Air Force has landed two aircraft in Zhuhai. They will bring single-aircraft aerobatic performances every day during the exhibition with each lasting 10 minutes.
Ground equipment dynamic demonstration area
The newly added ground weapons dynamic demonstration area includes armored tanks, defense assault vehicles, and off-road vehicles that will handle simulative terrains such as ditches, vertical walls, sand roads, and wading pools. Also there is a 60 cm tank vertical crawling show.
