Gu Yuan Museum of Art
Located in the Shixi Scenic Area on East Meihua Road at the foot of Fenghuang Mt, the Gu Yuan Museum is a distinct Bauhaus-style (an influential trend in modern architecture) complex and is one of the city's cultural markers. It contains more than 150 works of art and a large number of paintings donated by Gu Yuan, an outstanding Chinese artist. The museum also is an important locale for the study of Gu Yuan's art and for showings by famous local and international artists.

Gu Yuan (1919-1996), a native of Nazhou Village, Tangjiawan, Zhuhai, as well as a famous printmaking painting master in the New Woodcut Movement in China, was also a renowned artist and educator. Operated by international standards, the Museum integrates collection, exhibition, research, education, communication, service and other functions.
