More than fifty exhibitors from China took part in the 2024 Smart City Expo World Congress at the GRAN VIA Exhibition Center in Barcelona at the beginning of last month.

In total, 1,150 exhibitors from more than 130 countries, attended the congress, which has the aim of injecting vitality into the global urban innovation ecosystem. The Tianjin Smart City Research Institute led the Tianjin Pavilion, which showcased the city's industries.

The Tianjin Pavilion showcased breakthroughs in various sectors, including next-generation information technology, biomedicine, new energy, new materials, aerospace, high-end equipment, intelligent and connected vehicles, demonstrating the city's complete and comprehensive industrial chain system in industrial manufacturing.

The World Intelligence Expo, an AI-themed event held annually in Tianjin, was given a prominent position at the city's pavilion, emphasizing cutting-edge technology, the exchange of advanced ideas, and the expansion of global cooperation. The exhibition underscored the expo’s role as an international platform for fostering innovation and collaboration.

Meng Yuhong, China's Consul General in Barcelona, visited the Tianjin Pavilion during the congress, where he was briefed on the city's industrial development and the World Intelligence Expo.

Meng praised the city's efforts in driving international collaboration in smart industries and encouraged greater Sino-Western cooperation to promote shared growth and improve quality of life through smart city advancements.

The Tianjin Pavilion attracted significant attention from professionals in smart city and intelligent industry sectors. Visitors from countries including the Czech Republic, France, Germany, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Spain, the United Kingdom and Uruguay all explored the exhibits.

The outstanding displays and professional presentations garnered widespread praise from diplomatic leaders, international audiences and professional media outlets.
