Tianjin's Beichen district marked the traditional Double Ninth Festival on Oct 11, by launching the month-long Silver Age Happiness Campaign, which drew over a thousand elderly participants.
The celebration featured a range of activities tailored to seniors, including a lawn music festival, a calligraphy and painting exhibition, a senior care services market and a skills competition for senior care institutions. The event buzzed with energy and enthusiasm, creating a joyful and engaging atmosphere.
The calligraphy and painting exhibition showcased over 50 pieces selected from various towns and communities in the district. The works conveyed deep emotional connection with China.
The senior care services market garnered significant attention, featuring more than 20 booths displaying senior-friendly products and intangible cultural heritage items. In the free health consultation area, medical professionals from Tianjin Medical University Chu Hsien-I Memorial Hospital provided health education and on-site consultations. Local police and cybersecurity experts were also present at the anti-fraud booth, teaching seniors how to identify scams.
This year, Beichen district has been actively implementing national strategies to address population aging, enhancing financial support to ensure dependable care for the elderly. The district plans to continue advancing senior care initiatives through strategic planning, innovative development models, and improved management.
