Teda International School (TIS) was established in 1995 by the governing body of the Tianjin Economic Development Area to provide world-class education for children residing in the Binhai / Teda region.

The school was established by the Teda Government and is open to any foreigners residing in Teda. Teda International School is located in the residential section of TEDA, ten minutes from Tanggu and fifty minutes from Tianjin.

The TIS campus is comprised of six modern, climate-controlled buildings housing general classrooms, science labs, computer labs, a library/media center, ESOL classrooms, a full-sized gymnasium and a large cafeteria. The campus grounds are a park-like setting that includes a playground, a football field, and a track.

TIS is a member of the EARCOS (East Asia Regional Council of Overseas Schools) and is accredited by WASC. TIS is also a member of ACAMIS (Association of Chinese and Mongolian International Schools) and participates in intramural sports and cultural activities regularly through this organization.
