Shanghai opened its first airport link railway on Dec 27, enhancing connectivity between Hongqiao and Pudong International Airports with a 40-minute commute.

The rail line currently consists of seven stations, including Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2, Zhongchun Road, Jinghong Road, South Sanlin, East Kangqiao, Shanghai International Resort and Pudong Airport Terminal 1&2.

The first trains from both terminal stations will depart at 6 am and the last trains will depart at 10 pm every day.

The fare starts at 4 yuan ($0.55), with a per-kilometer rate of 0.45 yuan. A full journey costs 26 yuan.

At Hongqiao Terminal 2, passengers can access the line by following signs from Metro Lines 2 or 10.

Zhongchun Road is the only station currently allowing passengers to transfer inside station and passengers currently need to check for transfers at the other three interchange stations.

2. All carriages are equipped with phone and computer charging points, specially designed high-speed train seats, internal lighting and information display screens.

3. All seven stations are equipped with open gates for checking in, with passengers notified through green arrows shown on the check-in machines.

4. All stations have toilets, childcare units and essential accessible facilities such as blind pathways, barrier-free gates and elevators.

5. All stations are equipped with manual service desks and electronic noticeboards with real-time information and directions.
