International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. (IFF), a global leader in food, beverages, health, biosciences and scents, established its Shanghai Creative Center in the Linkong Business Park in the city's Hongqiao International Central Business District on Oct 25.

The facility spans 16,000 square meters and is IFF's largest R&D center in Asia. The new center will further consolidate IFF's position at the forefront of fragrances, flavors, functional ingredients, and biosciences.

The new center houses IFF's first integrated platform for R&D and scientific discovery — the microbiome & health innovation center, supporting all categories including animal nutrition, home, and personal care. It has also established the first visual fragrance center, utilizing facial expression capture for olfactory AI solutions.
IFF's CEO Erik Fyrwald stated at the opening ceremony that the Chinese market serves as a hub for strategic technological innovation, where consumers are leading global trends in flavors, food ingredients, fragrances, health, and biosciences across the Asia-Pacific and beyond.
IFF employs over 1,600 people across 12 cities in China, and the Shanghai Creative Center makes IFF the first multinational daily chemical and food ingredients company to establish such a production base in China.
