Minhang district in Shanghai has embarked on an ambitious journey to establish the Minhang area of Hongqiao International Central Business District as a pivotal node within the Hongqiao International Opening-up Hub.
Minhang has rolled out specialized supporting policies for industries such as modern services, finance, and international trade. The district has also accelerated institutional openness, implementing 16 national policies and 10 municipal special policies, including easing foreign investment access, establishing free trade accounts, and granting permanent residency to foreign talent.
As the main driving force behind the high-quality development of Hongqiao CBD, Minhang has demonstrated progress at a remarkable speed. By the end of June 2024, over 25,000 enterprises had established their presence in the region, including 265 headquarters enterprises and 19 certified multinational corporate headquarters. A batch of projects in the fields of biomedicine, new energy and digital economy are under construction.
The Hongqiao Pinhui, also known as the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trade Center, is home to 935 enterprises, while Building B has completed construction and is in the process of tenant recruitment and exhibition preparation. The Hongqiao Branch of the China Shanghai Human Resources (HR) Service Industry Park has attracted 231 human resources enterprises and institutions, including leading companies like ManpowerGroup, CDP Group, and Shanghai Foreign Service Holding Group. The Hongqiao Overseas Development Service Center continues to enhance its services by expanding functions such as Madrid trademark registration, APEC business travel cards, and ODI consultation, among others.
Designed to extend the services of the China International Import Expo, Hongqiao Pinhui operates as a year-round exhibition and trading platform for imported products. [Photo/WeChat ID: minhangnews]
