A regular meeting of the municipal government was held on Sept 18, during which measures aimed at supporting the Hongqiao International Central Business District in establishing a new platform for an international trade center were endorsed.
The meeting emphasized the need to expedite the integrated development of "bringing in" and "going out" strategies, continuously expand high-standard opening-up, and accelerate the clustering of leading traders and international economic organizations. It also called for a series of public service platforms to be established to better support domestic enterprises in engaging in international cooperation and competition.
The meeting also highlighted the urgent need to accelerate the innovative development of new business models, promote the development of new-type international trade, fully leverage exhibitions and conventions on trade, and better harness the spillover effects of the China International Import Expo.
Furthermore, the meeting stressed the importance of accelerating digital and green transformation. By integrating the construction of a pioneering region for Silk Road E-commerce cooperation and a cluster of productive internet service platforms, the meeting encouraged the active promotion of blockchain, big data, and other technological applications, aiming to create a new hub for international cooperation in the digital economy. Additionally, efforts were called for to expedite the establishment of a green and low-carbon supply chain system in the trade sector.
