A press conference on the Advanced Air Mobility Expo Shanghai was held on Aug 20, during which it was revealed that the expo's inaugural edition will be held at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) in Shanghai's Hongqiao International Central Business District from July 23 to 26, 2025.
With a planned exhibition area of over 100,000 square meters, the expo aims to serve as a platform for industrial exchange and boost the nation's development in the low-altitude economy via a series of thematic displays, professional forums, matchmaking activities, presentations, and experiential activities. Key aspects of the low-altitude industry chain, including infrastructure, manufacturing, and supporting services, will also be showcased.
Ning Feng, president of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), highlighted that the Advanced Air Mobility Expo will integrate general aviation, drones, eVTOL, and other aircraft in the low-altitude sector, systematically display upstream core components and systems as well as downstream operations, supporting services, and applications across various industries. Dynamic experiential areas and flight demonstration zones will be a highlight of the expo, providing attendees with the opportunity to personally experience what low-altitude flight has to offer.
According to data from the China Center for Information Industry Development, a public institution of China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the output value of China's low-altitude economy grew 33.8 percent year-on-year to 506 billion yuan ($70.86 billion) in 2023 and is expected to hit 1.06 trillion yuan by 2026.
