The Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD) held its 2024 investment promotion conference on July 30, revealing 130 key projects in the first half of the year. These projects attracted significant investments in biomedicine, new energy, and the headquarters economy, reinforcing the district's status as a hub for major enterprises.
The conference revealed that the district has become a key area for headquarters aggregation, with 211 enterprise headquarters established, and is now home to 300 specialized enterprises that produce cutting-edge products. It plans to focus on five strategic emerging industries, including productive services, low-altitude industries, digital intelligence, life and health, and new energy.
The district's administrative committee introduced policies to support outbound investment at the conference, offering up to 1 million yuan for headquarters clustering purposes and up to 6 million yuan for overseas direct investment projects. A "professional service voucher" system will also be implemented to encourage professional service organizations to assist companies.
Legal firm Duan & Duan has established a branch in the district to provide legal services to enterprises that wish to expand overseas. Additionally, the Yangtze River Delta Belt and Road High-Quality Development Promotion Association has been established in the district, and the "Going Global" Professional Service Organization Alliance has been formed to offer comprehensive services.
During the conference, nine financial and investment institutions signed agreements with the district's administrative committee to provide precise financial services for resident enterprises. The district also pledges further support for the development of productive internet service platforms.
