Roundtable discussion of Shanghai Intl Nature Conservation Festival held in Qingpu

More than 20 experts and scholars gathered in Qingpu district for a roundtable discussion as part of the 9th Shanghai International Nature Conservation Festival on Nov 12.

Themed on green development, the event aimed to contribute to the high-quality integrated ecological green development in the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region.

The roundtable discussion is an integral part of the festival's large-scale science popularization activities. It serves as a platform for actively practicing the concept of harmony between humans and nature, gathering insights from various parties, exploring green development, and creating an ecological future.

During the meeting, experts and scholars from international organizations, prominent domestic universities, and leading technology companies from both China and abroad discussed Qingpu's current situation and shared their valuable opinions and suggestions on action plans based on their expertise and work fields.

Qingpu district has always leveraged its natural resource advantages and pursued green and sustainable development. It has built a solid foundation for ecological development and highlighted the significance of water, as Qingpu owes its existence and growth to its water resources.

In recent years, Qingpu district has completed several notable projects in ecological green development, such as the construction of a 42-kilometer-long urban water system parks and the comprehensive treatment of Dianshan Lake's shoreline water environment.

Looking ahead, Qingpu district will fully embrace new ideas, strategies and methods proposed by experts and scholars from various fields and actively practice the concept of ecological civilization. It will also strengthen the empowerment of green technology, pursue innovation and make efforts to turn Qingpu into a practical area for achieving green, sustainable development and carbon neutrality.
