The long-awaited Hongqiao Sports Park in the Hongqiao International Central Business District (CBD) will be fully open to the public in July.
Located at No 820 Suining Road in Shanghai's Hongqiao district, the park is a new sporting landmark in the city that has eight underground halls for swimming, skating, physical training, kendo, basketball, badminton, squash, and sporting leisure activities.
Following its opening, the Hongqiao Sports Park will launch the "Hongqiao Sports League", which involves competitions for sports like basketball and badminton.
Themed after the aerospace industry, the new park also features a wealth of information about the industry.
Outdoor tennis courts, football fields and spaces for parent-child activity programs are currently being constructed in the park.
