The new venue of Yuz Museum in the Panlong Tiandi commercial area is scheduled to open on May 18 in the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District.
The inaugural exhibition, A Journey, will present 46 representative works selected from nearly 1,500 pieces of the Yuz Foundation's collections. The exhibits include paintings, sculptures, installations, photographs and videos by Chinese and international artists.
The artists' works are related to the imagery of "home" through ordinary items, everyday experiences, individual memories or dreams, ongoing or repetitive personal practices, and reflections of historical and social issues.
Yuz Museum has made its home on the winding waterfront in the ancient town of Panlong. It is surrounded by rivers, ponds and bamboo forests. The building features gable walls and a double-sloped roof that are often seen in traditional Jiangnan dwellings. [Photo by Wang Wenlong/WeChat account: xintiandiPL]
