Shanghai-based Chinese news portal Jiemian recently published its 2022 list for ESG (environmental, social and governance) practice pioneers, with 55 companies and 12 business leaders making the list, including Trina Solar Co, Johnson Controls, Otis Elevator and iFlytek from Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District.
Trina Solar Co won the annual outstanding award for environmental responsibility, Otis Elevator won the annual outstanding award for social responsibility, iFlytek and Johnson Controls won the annual enterprise ESG practice awards, and Anu Rathninde, president of Johnson Controls Asia-Pacific, won the annual ESG explorer award.
The list was compiled following a comprehensive evaluation of companies' basic operating performance and their achievements in fulfilling their environmental, social and governance responsibilities through data screening, public polls and expert deliberation.
The evaluation covered nearly 100 industries, including finance, petrochemicals, chemicals, construction materials, steel, nonferrous metals, papermaking, electricity, aviation, hospitality, education, home appliances and garments.
