The first Hongqiao Procuratorial Forum themed on cross-regional intellectual property rights (IPR) protection was held in the Shanghai Hongqiao International CBD on Dec 16.
As the Hongqiao CBD involves four administrative divisions, strengthening cross-regional cooperation on IPR protection will help the CBD attract more enterprises and investment, said Bao Bingzhang, Party chief of the Administrative Committee of the Hongqiao CBD.
During the forum, the Shanghai People’s Procuratorate and the Administrative Committee of the Hongqiao CBD signed a strategic cooperation memorandum, which is aimed at improving the business environment and advancing trade by establishing an intellectual property protection mechanism.
According to the memorandum, the two parties will implement a series of measures, including enhancing communication and building a comprehensive IPR service platform to improve the district's companies' awareness and abilities of preventing related risks.

An IPR Procuratorial Service Base was also launched in the Hongqiao CBD to help procuratorates better understand the legal needs of the district's enterprises.
The forum also hosted in-depth discussions on issues such as legal protection for digital economy and social governance in the field of international trade.
