The Greenland Holding Group launched a comprehensive service platform to facilitate foreign businesses sell their products in the Chinese market on Wednesday, ahead of the fourth China International Import Expo 50-day countdown.
Called G-Hub (Hongqiao) International Trade Public Service Platform, it provides trade companies with free services such as matchmaking, supply chain management, product tracing and branding, according to Greenland.
Salico Trading was among the firsts using the platform during its trial run. With the help of the platform, the Uzbek trade company imported Uzbekistan sweet melons, including the famous large Mirza melon which weighs up to 15 kilograms, to China and sell in local markets in Shanghai this month.
Salimov Behzod, general manager of Salico Trading, said the melons will be exhibited in the upcoming CIIE in November, and the company wants to not only exhibit the melons, but also bring them from farms in Uzbekistan to the tables of Chinese families.
"The platform provides a good channel for us to reach local distributors," he said while presenting a baskets of huge melons at the launch of the platform.
Also during the launch ceremony, Sri Lankan Prasada De Long received the business certificate of a cultural experience center that opened in the first floor of G-Hub, a shopping mall in Hongqiao area featuring many national pavilions and imported goods of CIIE.
De Long said, "Last year, a group of Sri Lankan companies participated in the third CIIE and gained a lot of orders, but we want to have a long-term exhibition window for our products and culture."
According to Greenland, it has helped 60 overseas companies made business registrations in China this year, and it has incorporated this service into the platform.
Xue Yingjie, assistant president of Greenland Holding Group, said the company aims to attract more overseas businesses to set up their stores in Hongqiao area through the platform, and build a bridge of trade between CIIE exhibitors and domestic buyers.
