The bookstore spans 2,200 square metres and houses an impressive collection of 60,000 books. It aims to be a cultural haven, having partnered with Douban.com, a popular reading-themed website in China, with recommendations for highly-rated books.

Additionally, it features a section dedicated to the esteemed London Review of Books and showcases over 3,500 books in languages other than Chinese.
Aside from being a bookstore, Duoyun also serves as a cultural institution and offers an observation platform overlooking the Lujiazui area and Huangpu River.
In addition, Duoyun Books has established several distinctive branches — Guangfulin branch, Theatre store, and Sinan Books.
The Guangfulin store, housed within historic Haipai architecture; the Theater store, adjacent to the prestigious Lanxin Grand Theater; and Sinan Books, artfully repurposed from a vintage Shanghai-style residence, each beckon as noteworthy destinations for discerning patrons.
