The route for the 2024 Shanghai Sheshan G60 Half Marathon has been unveiled by the Songjiang District Sports Bureau in East China's Shanghai.
This year's route promises to showcase the picturesque beauty and cultural richness of Songjiang. It stretches from Sheshan Mountain, known as the Peak of Shanghai, to Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park – dubbed the Root of Shanghai.
Starting from Shanghai Happy Valley, located in the Sheshan National Tourist Resort, the half marathon will wind its way through key landmarks including Sheshan National Forest Park, Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park and Chenshan Botanical Garden, among others.
Professional photographer Cai Bin, who has participated in previous half marathons, praised the route's stunning scenery as being among the very best he's ever seen.
In addition to the race, spectators can expect to enjoy local cultural performances and university exhibitions, adding a vibrant touch to the fun.
With 5,000 participants from a wide range of backgrounds – both Chinese and international – the marathon aims to promote fitness and provide an opportunity for participants to appreciate Songjiang's physical beauty, cultural heritage and dynamic development.
