The Guangfulin Cultural Relics Park in East China's Shanghai offers a very special archaeological experience for kids through its program called A Day's Journey to Become a Little Archaeologist.
The initiative aims to introduce them to the roots of Shanghai and the fascinating world of archaeology in just one day.
The adventure begins with a visit to the mysterious Wind Wall Memory Museum, a part of Guangfulin rarely accessible to the public.
Stretching nearly a kilometer, it features real-life scenes like city walls, tunnels and mazes, providing children with a journey through time and space. Guided by teachers, the youngsters unlock mysteries as they explore historical relics, ancient totems, hieroglyphs and primitive murals.

After that, the children delve into archaeological excavations at the Guangfulin Archaeological Experience Museum.

Equipped with professional tools like trowels and compasses, they get hands-on experience of excavation techniques – uncovering various pottery fragments buried beneath the sand.

Through patient work, the participants learn how to repair pottery fragments, restoring them to their original state.
The program, which runs daily on May 1-5 and will also be held on May 18, is open to children from grade two and above. With a special offer of 499 yuan ($68.86) per person, it promises an educational and adventurous experience for young archaeology fans.
