On Dec 11, a group of students from Troy University in Alabama, the United States, had a unique opportunity to experience the rich and vibrant world of Peking Opera, one of China's most iconic traditional art forms. The event, held in the Chefoo district of Yantai, East China's Shandong province, aimed to increase international understanding of Chinese culture.

The event kicked off with a captivating Peking Opera performance by experienced artists. Their exquisite acting, stunning costumes, and melodious singing captivated the students. Following the performance, the artists provided a detailed explanation of Peking Opera's history, performance techniques, and cultural significance, further enriching the audience's understanding of the art form.

To make the experience more interactive, the students were then given the chance to try out Peking Opera for themselves under the guidance of experienced teachers. This hands-on experience allowed them to appreciate the unique charm and intricacies of this traditional art form.

Chefoo district in Yantai has been actively promoting cultural exchange in recent years. This year alone, the district has organized 18 events for expats and produced eight promotional videos to showcase the city's vibrant and attractive image to the world.
