The 6th China Kite Culture Festival took place in Eritrea on Nov 17. The event, which attracted over 43 teams from both China and Eritrea, was a resounding success with more than 1,500 local students and teachers cheering on the participants.
A highlight of the festival was the unique kite exhibition organized by Weifang, Shandong province. The exhibition, along with a kite fashion show, added a vibrant touch to the event.
Prior to the festival, a kite culture lecture and workshop event was held at a local university. Wang Yongxun and Yang Hongwei, representative inheritors of the national intangible cultural heritage item of Weifang kites, were invited to share the history and development of Weifang kites with local students and teachers.
