Jinan, capital of East China's Shandong province recently unveiled a "Nishan House" bookstore at the DeRen Schule e.V. München in Munich, Germany, in an effort to promote exchange in education and culture.

The Nishan House, named after the birth place of ancient Chinese educator and philosopher Confucius, is a bookstore chain created by Shandong Friendship Publishing House, with the aim of carrying forward Chinese traditional culture and promoting cultural exchanges between China and other countries.

At the unveiling ceremony, a batch of books on Chinese culture were donated by the Jinan government, focusing on literature, history, and philosophy, to give local people the chance to learn more about Chinese culture.

Jinan and Munich established a friendly cooperative city relationship in 2012. The Nishan House, by offering Chinese books and cultural materials and hosting related cultural activities, allows locals to explore Chinese culture, which will further promote the mutual exchange between the two sides.
