Shandong shines at intl travel event

The China International Travel Mart 2024 officially began in Shanghai on Nov 22, featuring over 1,000 international exhibitors and nearly 600 overseas travel salespersons from 80 countries and regions.

At the event, the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, in collaboration with cultural and tourism bureaus from 16 cities and nearly 50 cultural and tourism enterprises in the province, unveiled the "Friendly Shandong - Hometown of Confucius" exhibition area.

This exhibit focused on high-quality development through the deep integration of culture and tourism, and unveiled Shandong's rich cultural and tourism resources and premium products. It aimed to promote international tourism cooperation, particularly inbound tourism, and enhanced exchanges with global tourism in areas such as policy, markets, products, information, and services.

The exhibition area featured a special inbound tourism section, which highlighted Shandong's inbound tourism resources and product routes, and created a place for local travel agencies and international travel salespersons to interact.

During the travel mart, cooperation agreements were reached for organizing study tours to Shandong for students from Hong Kong, France, Singapore, Malaysia, and South Africa.

Shandong's unique intangible cultural heritage and creative cultural projects were also on display during the international event. The techniques of making Dong'e ejiao and Dezhou braised chicken were particularly enticing. Cultural and creative products, and traditional crafts from Shandong attracted widespread attention.
