According to the Constitution of South and Southeast Asian University Network, Lumbini Buddhist University (Nepal) has been accepted as the member of South and Southeast Asian University Network.

Introduction

Lumbini Buddhist University is a unique higher eudcation institution located in the birthplace of Gautama Buddha, Lumbini, Nepal. Established in 2004 by an act of the Nepalese Parliament, LBU was envisioned as a center of excellence for promoting Buddhist philosophy, education, and research in Nepal and around the world. Its academic focus not only revolves around Buddhist studies but also encompasses a broad range of disciplines including philosophy, humanities, social sciences, and peace studies, making it a hub for interdisciplinary education inspired by Buddhist values.
