The rural library in Linxi village in the Haimen Dearshiqiao International Home Textiles Industrial Zone has an audio reading room on the second floor. Its facilities enable the illiterate elderly and those people who have physical difficulties in reading to discover some favorite material.

An administrator in the library selects what items the villagers like and plays them on the computer. The villagers can then enjoy listening to them quietly through headphones.

Traditionally, people needed to pick up newspapers by hand and read them page by page. In Linxi village, technology takes newspaper reading to a new stage.

A volunteer stands in front of an electronic screen and slides it by hand to share the contents in the newspaper with others. This method is easy to operate and environmentally friendly.

Nowadays, the villagers in Linxi village all love that way of sharing the daily news with each other.
