The foreign trade zone of the China Dearshiqiao International Home Textiles market came into operation on July 22. Transformed from the former embroidery city, it is a modern built-in home textile market with complete supporting facilities and is popular among purchasers.
Because it is close to major hotels, the zone can attract many buyers to purchase textiles at night. To provide better services, the zone has extended its business hours to 9:30 pm.
Each night, the brightly lit foreign trade zone with its many busy merchants becomes a special landscape in Dearshiqiao's night market.
"In the past, we had few places to go at night, so it is wonderful to have a foreign trade zone," said a man surnamed Wang who lives near the market. "With an excellent environment, products and services, business is bound to get better and better."
A merchant in the zone surnamed Luo said: "Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the market went quiet, but the opening of the foreign trade zone gave us confidence, and the policy support from the park and the government is helping us overcome those difficulties."
In the next stage, the management committee of the Dearshiqiao market will organize multiple activities such as concerts and a night bazaar to stimulate night consumption.
