Authorities in the Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, have in recent years been implementing a series of measures to attract more high-caliber talents to the zone.
For example, authorities have established 65 provincial innovation platforms, including the Baoyuehu Healthcare Industrial Park, to attract upstream and downstream enterprises.
The industrial park is presently home to more than 50 enterprises and over 100 top talents working in industries such as healthcare, electronic information, and information and innovation.
To date, the zone has launched nearly 30 projects that are managed by top talents it has recruited.
These professional talents have been playing an important role in promoting the zone's high-quality development, said a local official.
The zone is currently home to four provincial potential unicorns, five national "little giants" and 10 provincial little giant enterprises, according to official statistics.
The Chongchuan government has also taken measures to provide financial support to entrepreneurs.
The local authorities in May set up a venture capital fund that invested 10 million yuan ($1.45 million) in Nantong Ruidong New Energy Technology Co Ltd.
Liang Wei, president of the Nantong Ruidong, said that the investment will accelerate the construction of the project funded by his company.
Authorities have also been ramping up efforts to provide better services to talents who have worked in the zone, including rolling out preferential policies to provide solutions for household registry, children's education, housing and health services.
The zone has provided more than 800 apartments, distributed a total of 4 million yuan of housing subsidies, and offered 31 education opportunities to such talents.
