Changle town: China's major redwood production hub

At the Yongdian Redwood Exhibition Hall in Changle town, Haimen district, Nantong, a mini bicycle model is among the many eye-catching items on display.
Made of redwood, the model measures 19 centimeters in length and 11 cm in height, and took a craftsman one month to complete.
The redwood industry in Changle boasts a history of more than 300 years. The town is currently home to more than 600 redwood companies and individual workshops. Twenty of these businesses earn more than 10 million yuan annually.
The town's redwood industry hires more than 4,000 people who help generate over 2 billion yuan ($289.8 million) in sales each year.
The exquisite redwood handiworks and furniture of the town can be found across China and even in Europe and the Americas.
