The main construction of Phase I of the Jiangsu Marshi Food Co Ltd food processing plant and support buildings, to be settled in Xinghua Economic Development Zone in Xinghua city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – is understood to be progressing well.
Costing a projected 1.16 billion yuan ($160.75 million), the plant is being funded by Jiangsu Jideli Food Co Ltd, which is mainly engaged in the agricultural and sideline food processing industry.
To date, the main body of the office building and R&D building for Phase I has been capped. The civil engineering of Phase I is expected to be completed in June.
"After the factory is built, we will have a product called Songrongxian which focuses on adjusting food product freshness. It uses seafood ingredients and does not contain MSG or nucleotides," said Lu Zhonggui, a responsible person of Jiangsu Marshi Food Co Ltd.
He added that the product was being jointly developed with hundreds of industry peers, seasoning associations and leading universities.
After hundreds of rounds of blending, it is understood to have a great taste and is beneficial to health.
Phase II of construction will start in the second half of this year, with the construction of five multi-story factories covering a floor space of 60,000 square meters.
The factory started construction in September last year and is projected to be completed and start operating in September 2025.
At full capacity, it will produce 40,000 metric tons of seasoning annually, 22,000 tons of snack foods, 12,000 tons of readymade food and is projected to generate 1 billion yuan in invoiced sales annually.
After ramping up to full output, Jiangsu Marshi Food Co Ltd will serve as a centralized supply center for the Xinghua Health Industry Cluster.
It will utilize its procurement advantages to provide raw materials supply services for small and medium-sized enterprises in Xinghua city.
