The production and sales of small and medium-sized enterprises or SMEs – based in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone in Xinghua city, in East China's Jiangsu province – have continued to improve in the first two months of the year.
One prime example is Jiangsu Excalibur Power Machinery Co Ltd, which has independently developed a new generation of generators. Without altering its performance, its weight has been reduced by half, winning it recognition in the international market.
At the start of the year, after listing its shares on the stock market, foreign trade orders hit 150 million yuan ($20.74 million), a year-on-year increase of 20 percent.
General manager Yuan Jiechi said the company was working overtime to maximize output, to ensure that all orders in hand were completed by mid-May.
This year, the zone has continued to streamline communications channels to handle the various issues at resident companies.
Through simplified approvals procedures and by dispatching dedicated service teams, it has ensured that issues raised by small and medium-sized private enterprises are promptly addressed and resolved.
From January to February, the zone generated total invoiced sales of 3.41 billion yuan, accounting for 13 percent of the annual target and a year-on-year increase of 13 percent.
