Manufacturer Xinghua Rusong Vegetable Oil, a company located in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone – in Xinghua, in East China's Jiangsu province – held a groundbreaking ceremony on Jan 23 for a new plant that will produce refined edible rice bran oil.
Founded in 2004, the company mainly produces and processes agricultural products like rice bran oil and fodder made of rice bran residue.
To meet market demand, the company launched the edible oil project to expand its production to include refined rice bran oil.
The plant will cost 132 million yuan ($18.6 million) and on completion is expected to double the company's annual output value to 325 million yuan.
The project will build production lines and R&D buildings with a floor space of 25,090 square meters. When output is fully ramped up, it's expected to add an output value of 165 million yuan annually.
