As an ultra-low energy consumption green building, the phase II comprehensive building of the water plant of the Taixing Economic Development Zone, located in Taixing city, East China's Jiangsu province, recently started construction.
It has been included in the second batch of demonstration projects for the Sino-Swiss Zero Emission Building Demonstration Project.
The recognition aims to draw on Switzerland's accumulated experience in zero carbon buildings, in a bid to help China develop zero carbon building technology standards.
Equipped with functions for exhibitions, conferences, catering and accommodation, the new building will strive to promote low-carbon construction by implementing lightweight construction and prefabricated materials.
Through adopting the sustainable concepts of a differentiated water supply, collaborative treatment and local resource utilization, sewage source treatment and recycling can be achieved. This realizes pollution reduction, carbon reduction and synergistic efficiency enhancement.
In addition, a low carbon management platform, integrating subsystems such as smart energy, environmental monitoring and carbon emissions monitoring, will also be established. That can help boost unified management of the energy and environment of the building.
Plans are for Taixing to continue to implement and foster the development of new industrialization, digitization and the greening of buildings, accelerating the green and high-quality development of urban and rural construction.
