The "Lotus Joy in Jiading" summer event recently launched in Jiading North Suburban Park in Shanghai's Jiading district, attracting many visitors.
The park's large-scale lotus pond is now abundant with lotus flowers, creating a mesmerizing sight. A visitor surnamed Liu, dressed in hanfu (traditional Chinese clothing), described the experience as stepping into a fairyland.
To enhance the visitor experience during the event, the park staff dressed in hanfu and narrated lotus-themed poems and stories. Visitors were also able to enjoy guzheng (Chinese zither) music, which added to the park's educational and cultural atmosphere.
The event also featured activities like making scented sachets, solving literary riddles, and making traditional fans. Wu Chunyan, a park staff member, emphasized the park's aim to blend fun, culture, and knowledge.
A visitor surnamed Lu, who traveled from the city center, praised the event for its rich activities and educational value, offering a fantastic experience that is close to nature. Inspired by the surrounding beauty, some visitors also painted lotus scenes on blank umbrellas.
