Hefei high-tech zone leads Anhui province in patents

Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone emerges triumphant as 14 of its enterprises clinch top spots in Anhui province's 2023 invention patent top 100 list, securing the city's premier position.

Among the distinguished companies are Midea Refrigerator, China Electronics Technology Group Corporation No 38 Institute, Sungrow Power Supply, and iFlytek, all ranking in the top 20.

This success reflects the Hefei high-tech zone's relentless efforts in fostering high-value patents and enhancing patent awareness among businesses.

The intellectual property service building in the high-tech zone commenced operations in 2023, providing tailored services to 527 companies and identifying 101 patent needs.

The market supervision authority of the high-tech zone conducted 19 comprehensive intellectual property training, fostering the "patents for enterprises" initiative, with 5200 enterprises actively applying for patents.

With a commitment of 46.6 million yuan ($6.47 million) in policy funds, 1,005 innovative entities were supported, resulting in a 5.16 percent increase in newly authorized patents.

The Hefei high-tech zone also became home to five new national intellectual property demonstration enterprises and 17 advantage enterprises in 2023, contributing to the area's cumulative 17,834 invention patents.

By the end of 2023 there were 598 invention patents per ten thousand people on average,, including 258 high-value patents, showcasing the zone's innovative prowess.

Looking ahead, the Hefei high-tech zone pledges to bolster the intellectual property service building's service capabilities, drive patent transformation, and advance the development of the Grand Union of Innovation (GUi), further solidifying its role as a global innovation hub.
