Dilution refrigerator in Hefei high-tech zone achieves intl standards, a first in China
The performance statistics of ez-Q Fridge, China's first commercially viable dilution refrigerator for superconducting quantum computers, have met the standards of its international competitors.
The result, jointly unveiled by Anhui Province Quantum Information Engineering Technology Research Center and QuantumCTek Co Ltd, serves as a breakthrough for China's quantum technology sector, and another fruit fertilized in the Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone.
Dilution refrigerator is a key accessory for superconducting quantum computing, which maintains ultra-low temperatures that border on absolute zero, the lowest limit of the thermodynamic temperature scale. The equipment has long been dominated by international manufacturers, but the ideal performance of ez-Q Fridge now grants China a seat in the community.

Collaborative efforts between QuantumCTek Co Ltd and leading Chinese academic institutions have addressed the lack of critical components, facilitating the research and delivery of domestically-produced dilution refrigerators.
Test results demonstrate that the domestic dilution refrigerators provide ultra-low temperature environments reaching as low as 10 millikelvins, or -273.14 celsius degrees, meeting international benchmarks for performance and noise reduction.
Notably, the ez-Q Fridge boasts larger working spaces, able to cool more quantum computing chips to support various research needs and enhance quantum computing capabilities.
The company behind this development, QuantumCTek, aims to collaborate further with universities and research institutions to propel the development of quantum computing hardware and software. This endeavor signifies a concerted effort towards nurturing a robust domestic quantum computing industry chain.
To Anhui province and the zone, the introduction of the ez-Q Fridge indicates its commitment and investment to innovation and research bring about technological breakthroughs. This achievement heralds more possibility of domestic quantum technology development.
