The Nan'gang Science and Technology Achievement Accelerator Project, in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone – located in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province – recently broke ground.
In China, moving upward is a new trend in manufacturing, which refers to the practice of moving traditional single-story factories to high-rise buildings. This trend is driven by a number of factors, including meeting the need for industrial upgrading, breaking through the bottleneck of industrial land use and improving land resource utilization.
With a total investment of about 1.69 billion yuan ($236 million), the Nan'gang Science and Technology Achievement Accelerator Project in the Hefei high-tech zone is one of the first moving upward pilot projects in Anhui province.
Set to be completed in June 2026, the project will focus on the construction of high-rise and multi-story factories.
When completed, the project will become a base for high-end intelligent manufacturing, electronics information and other strategic emerging industries.
