The final of the annual innovation and entrepreneurship competition called Chuangxiang China was held on Dec 2 at the Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone – located in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province – with a total of 30 technology projects from around the world in contention.

The competition was open to innovators and entrepreneurs – both local and international – and was split into categories for individuals, groups and enterprises.

The final was divided into 10 groups and each had one first-prize winner and two second-prize winners – making a total of 10 first prize winners and 20 second prize winners.

Anhui province is providing financial rewards to the winners and is offering entrepreneurship services throughout the project's lifecycle.

Support is being provided in terms of financing, personnel and policies. The aim is to help them set up in the Grand Union of Innovation, a technological innovation hub in the high-tech zone.

Since its inception in 2017, the competition has been held for seven consecutive sessions and has attracted over 11,000 projects from both domestic and overseas participants.

It has enabled 93 overseas projects and 75 projects from other provinces to settle in Anhui, with cumulative funding of 6.4 billion yuan ($892 million).
