Hefei zone focuses on projects, services to spur development
The Hefei National High-Tech Industry Development Zone – located in Hefei city, capital of East China's Anhui province – is focusing on project development and improving services to become a strong engine for economic growth.
This year, the zone has implemented comprehensive, streamlined and tailored services to meet the specific needs of resident businesses, ensuring a smooth and efficient process from project initiation to construction.
Currently, 22 key projects have obtained construction permits and commenced construction, with a total of 56 construction permits issued since the start of this year, covering a combined area of 2,691 mu (179 hectares) and a planned construction area of around 4.04 million square meters.
By streamlining processes such as workers' compensation insurance, construction contract stamp duty and outdoor drainage reviews, the zone has significantly reduced the pre-construction preparation time – earning recognition and praise from contractors.

Furthermore, through a series of reforms and innovations, the zone has simplified administrative procedures to provide more convenient services for businesses.
The approval timeline for construction permits has been reduced to "same-day completion" from the previous three working days.
The zone has also implemented an integrated government service window system, enabling all project-related approvals to be completed online.
It has also established a government service center for the convenience of enterprises. This one-stop facility accommodates various utility companies, offering streamlined services such as utility connection applications, simplifying procedures and reducing unnecessary trips for businesses.
