Hefei zone industrial parks report robust growth in H1
Seven industrial parks in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone – located in Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province – reported main business income of 139.1 billion yuan ($18.94 billion) in the first half of the year.
That performance for the six months represented robust year-on-year growth of 19.2 percent.
The parks were listed in the first batch of featured industrial parks in Anhui last year – as part of the province's efforts to enhance its park resources and boost the growth of development zones.
They cover a total planning area of 36 square kilometers, of which 29 sq km have been developed.
With an average main business income that exceeded the province's development zone average by 1.7 times in 2022, investments in the seven parks topped 4 million yuan per mu (1 mu = 0.07 hectares) last year and average tax revenue hit 780,000 yuan per mu.
Additionally, R&D expenditure accounted for 5.1 percent of their operating income last year, indicating a focus on innovation and collaboration between industry, academia and research.
The featured industrial parks are said to have demonstrated their competitive advantages, complete industry supply chains, well-defined functions, scientific and standardized management and outstanding innovation capabilities.
