Hefei high-tech zone improves its medical insurance services
The social affairs bureau of the Hefei high-tech zone in Hefei – capital of East China's Anhui province – is making significant strides in improving its medical insurance handling services system.
Following a people-centered approach, the bureau is aiming to develop a comprehensive system that extends to all corners, enhancing people's sense of care and well-being.
To achieve this, the bureau is strengthening its medical insurance handling services by addressing urgent difficulties and worries faced by the public.
It has established five windows in the government service hall – providing such services as flexible employment collections and social security collections. More than 5,000 cases have been handled to date.
Additionally, the bureau is implementing assistance programs for those in need. Early monthly warnings about high out-of-pocket expenses are shared with civil affairs and community centers to identify individuals in need of help.
This year alone, 18 individuals have been identified as rescue targets and 78,500 yuan ($10,940) was allocated for their assistance.
Furthermore, 676 individuals have benefited from the assistance policy and have been fully covered.
The bureau has also provided one-stop medical assistance to 5,788 individuals, greatly reducing the burden of their medical treatment.
The bureau is also committed to resolving public concerns in a timely manner. Special telephone hotlines for policy consultations have been established, ensuring smooth communications channels.
Since the start of the year, more than 180 concerns have been resolved with a reported customer satisfaction rate of 100 percent.
Lastly, the bureau is strictly regulating its fund management to prevent fraud and the irregular use of medical insurance funds.
Regular inspections and special checks are being conducted in key areas, which have resulted in the recovery of 158,000 yuan of irregularly used funds.
