Hefei high-tech zone sees robust growth of consumption
The Hefei National Hi-Tech Industry Development Zone in Hefei, the capital of East China's Anhui province, generated 14.48 billion yuan ($2 billion) in retail sales of consumer goods in the first half of this year, a year-on-year growth of 15 percent.
The zone's revenues for wholesale, retail, accommodation and dining amounted to 34.27 billion yuan, 5.25 billion yuan, 320 million yuan, and 2.09 billion yuan, rising by 1.6 percent, 14.5 percent, 31.9 percent, and 36.9 percent year-on-year respectively.

This year, the zone has tried various means to stimulate consumer spending, including integrating industry and urban development, enhancing commercial carriers and innovating consumption scenarios.
The zone has combined its development plans for trade and commerce with the integrated development of industry and urban areas to enhance the vitality of the trade and commerce sector. It has also attracted major projects such as M STAND Coffee and Xiaoyang Zhenxuan, both of which have enhanced the city's consumer scene and drawn many customers.
