Key quantum computing conference comes to Hefei city
The second CCF Quantum Computation Conference and the China Quantum Computation Industry Summit will be held in Hefei – capital of East China's Anhui province – on Aug 19-20.
Organized by the China Computer Federation, or CCF, the event will feature reports from top experts and 10 themed forums covering such areas as quantum computing software, hardware, applications and manufacturing.
The conference is due to attract around 1,000 professionals in the field of quantum computing, including academicians at the Chinese Academy of Sciences and representatives from 50 high-tech companies, including tech giant Huawei.
It aims to provide a platform for multidisciplinary cross-integration and technological advancements in quantum computing.
The conference also serves as a platform for developing first-rate talent in the sector. The second CCF Sinan Cup quantum computing programming challenge award ceremony will be held concurrently, with nearly 400 competition winners expected to attend.
Hefei has been at the forefront of quantum computing research and its industrialization in China. It is home to the first deliverable superconducting quantum computer, China's first quantum computer operating system and the country's first quantum chip production line.
The city is also said to have played a leading role in integrating supercomputing and quantitative computing.
Anhui has dozens of quantum information companies and many of them are located on Yunfei road in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, which has been dubbed "Quantum Avenue". [Photo by Zhang Xia/ahtpw.com]
