Hefei high-tech zone attracts new energy, environmental protection projects
The Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone, or Hefei high-tech zone, attracted a total of 10 projects in the fields of new energy and environmental protection at the second China New Energy, Energy Conservation, and Environmental Protection Industry Expo, which was held from July 6 to 8 in Hefei city, capital of East China's Anhui province.
The projects involve the manufacturing of high-end photovoltaic equipment, lithium battery research and development, integrated intelligent energy management control, and high-precision monitoring equipment research and development.
Zhou Guoxiang, deputy director of the Hefei high-tech zone's management committee, emphasized the importance of new energy and energy-saving environmental protection industries. These fields support economic and social development and will help to shape the future competitiveness of the Hefei high-tech zone.

Zhou said that these signed projects filled gaps in key industry chains and promoted regional development. He went on to state that the Hefei high-tech zone aims to become a technological highland and a source of high-quality innovation in the new energy and energy-saving environmental protection industries.
Currently, there are over 500 new energy and energy-saving environmental protection enterprises in the zone, with a combined output value of about 140 billion yuan ($19.37 billion).
Zhou added that the Hefei high-tech zone is committed to providing optimal services and a first-class business environment for these enterprises.
