Hefei high-tech zone holds first data space conference

The First Data Space Conference took place on May 14 in the Hefei National High-tech Industry Development Zone – located in Hefei city, capital of East China's Anhui province.

Nearly 1,000 academicians, experts and leaders from the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, universities and companies attended.

The event included a main forum and seven sub-forums covering such fields as computing infrastructure, future networks, healthy data space and industrial data space.

The main forum selected six outstanding achievements in the data space field nationwide – with 17 top universities, institutions and influential enterprises across the country releasing their latest achievements.

At the conference, the data space research institution signed contracts with 19 units to set up close partnerships with government departments, universities and enterprises – boosting industry-university-research cooperation and pushing forwards with the implementation of projects in Anhui province.

The conference discussed the major scientific issues of the day and the technological challenges being faced by data space – as well as the development of a national data space infrastructure and resource system.

Initiated by the Anhui provincial government, the Data Space Research Institute of the Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center settled in the Hefei High-tech Industry Development Zone in 2022.

It's attracting technological resources and is reported to be inspiring  innovation, to fuel the high-quality development of data space technology and the digital economy.
